The ongoing war and humanitarian crisis in Gaza is truly horrific and unjustifiable. The Israeli government's escalating attacks, blockade of vital aid, and plans to potentially occupy all of Gaza and forcibly relocate Palestinians are unconscionable violations of human rights and international law. This man-made famine and worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza must be urgently addressed. Congress must forcefully pressure the Trump administration to negotiate a durable and fair ceasefire that protects Palestinian lives, allows the free flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and guarantees the safety and sovereignty of Palestinians. Continuing to supply offensive weapons that enable these atrocities is indefensible. Support resolutions to restrict arms sales to Israel until they cease their unlawful aggression and war crimes. Suspending funding for the controversial Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in favor of UN aid efforts is also crucial given their unsafe distribution sites. Additionally, any plans by Israel to occupy Gaza or internationally displace Palestinians must be unequivocally condemned. A viable two-state solution ensuring Palestinian statehood and security should be the objective. The horrific suffering in Gaza caused by this unconscionable military onslaught, imposed famine, and violations of international law cannot be allowed to continue. Urgent action from Congress applying diplomatic pressure and restricting military support is imperative to end this humanitarian nightmare and achieve a just peace.
