I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to stand firmly against any efforts—by President Trump or anyone else—to gerrymander our state for partisan advantage. Manipulating district boundaries to favor one party over another undermines democracy and silences the voices of everyday citizens like me. Gerrymandering is unconstitutional, unfair, and a direct violation of the principle that every vote should count equally. We deserve a system where elected officials represent all of their constituents—not just those who align with a single party or an individual president’s agenda. The recent calls to further rig electoral maps in favor of Republicans are deeply troubling. They appear rooted not in public service, but in political self-preservation, ego, and power. I’m particularly disturbed by the notion that this is being done in service to President Trump’s personal ambitions—ambitions that have already cost our nation dearly, both morally and institutionally. From the misuse of taxpayer dollars for vanity projects like a gilded ballroom and military parades, to the symbolic destruction of national treasures like Jackie Kennedy’s rose garden, and those that are inhumane like the immigration process- masked violent ICE agents arresting people (many without criminal records and even legal citizens) and sending them to prisons and gulags with horrific conditions in the U. S. and foreign countries and not telling their families where they are and not allowing for due process or access to attorneys, it’s clear this agenda does not reflect the values of the American people. As my elected representative, you work for the people—not the president. I urge you to uphold democratic values, reject political gerrymandering, and support independent redistricting efforts that protect the integrity of our elections.
