The creation of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under Elon Musk's leadership raises serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and the balance of power in our democratic system. Allowing an unelected billionaire to exert sweeping influence across federal agencies without any meaningful oversight or public scrutiny is a blatant violation of democratic principles. Musk and his team have rapidly entrenched themselves within numerous government bodies, sidelining career officials and accessing sensitive data systems, all while dodging questions and evading public hearings. This shroud of secrecy surrounding DOGE's operations is unacceptable, as it prevents the American people from understanding the full scope and implications of the changes being made in their name. Furthermore, the explicit threats made against those who might impede or reveal information about DOGE's work are deeply disturbing and run counter to the principles of free speech and a free press that are fundamental to our democracy. Such intimidation tactics have no place in a society that values openness and the right to dissent. As an elected representative, you have a duty to protect the integrity of our democratic institutions and processes. I urge you to take immediate action to halt DOGE's unchecked activities and demand full transparency and oversight from the White House. Failing to do so would be a dereliction of your responsibility to uphold the checks and balances that safeguard our system of government. The American people deserve to know what changes are being made to the federal agencies that serve them, and they have a right to hold those responsible accountable through robust public discourse and the democratic process. It is imperative that you use the full extent of your authority to rein in this unilateral power grab and ensure that the principles of transparency, accountability, and separation of powers are upheld.
