This action, the second this month, not only undermines our democratic process but directly contributes to the escalating conflict and blatant disregard for human life. Bypassing Congress for arms sales is an unusual and concerning step, one that has previously met resistance from lawmakers who typically have the opportunity to review and potentially block such transfers. The use of US tax dollars must reflect our unwavering commitment to peace and human rights, not violence. The indiscriminate bombing of residential areas in the Gaza Strip is unacceptable. It is imperative to halt further bypasses of Congress for arms sales and to critically review the conditions under which aid is provided.
