I’m writing to you because I, like many Americans, am deeply concerned about the sudden firing of the top Judge Advocates General (JAGs) from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. This is not just another political shake-up—this directly impacts the integrity of our military justice system, and people are scared.
The JAG officers are the ones who ensure our military follows the law, advises commanders on legal matters, and holds service members accountable. Removing them without explanation raises serious red flags. Who replaces them? Will they be independent, or just politically loyal? Without experienced, impartial legal oversight, what kind of message does this send to our troops—and to the world?
This isn’t about politics. It’s about keeping our military professional, lawful, and accountable. I urge you to:
1. Demand transparency—Find out why these firings happened and whether they were justified.
2. Protect military legal independence—Ensure future JAGs aren’t just political appointees who say what leadership wants to hear.
3. Hold hearings if necessary—This cannot go unnoticed or unchallenged.
Americans deserve to know that the rule of law still matters in our armed forces. I hope you take a stand on this before it’s too late.
