Congress What an embarrassing spectacle this morning’s pep talk with America’s military leaders must have been. And how humiliating for the audience who deserves more respect than they were shown. Pete Hegseth is an insult to our country. What was the point of this dressing down? It seems like it was the ultimate revenge from a disgruntled enlisted man who finally has his day. He has seen too many Hollywood war movies. His vision of a lawless militia of psychopaths plays to the worst instincts humans have. And seems to deny any benefits a civilized society brings to the table. It’s apparent he doesn’t want women or minorities in the military. Or women should be only in office positions. Making coffee. But at least our president had yet another captive audience to display his increasingly wandering mind. This was all excruciatingly embarrassing for our country. What kind of military are we going to have under this bizarre vision of the ‘warrior ethos’? Just another downward spiral for the country. We’re getting used to it by now. I just hope we survive this particular one.
