Minnesota must not be complicit in genocide!
To: Gov. Walz
From: A verified voter in Lakeville, MN
July 27
I am writing in grief and outrage at the ongoing U.S.-backed genocide in Gaza—and I am calling on you, Governor Walz, to stop standing by and start taking action.
Israel’s destruction of Gaza is not just happening “over there.” It is happening with American weapons, American money, and American political cover. That includes horrifying war crimes like the joint U.S.-Israeli “aid sites,” used to lure starving Palestinians with food—only to bomb them. That is not humanitarian assistance. It is calculated mass murder.
And it is being done in our name.
You may not control foreign policy, but you are far from powerless. As governor, you can:
• Publicly and unequivocally call for an immediate, permanent ceasefire.
• Demand an end to U.S. military aid to Israel.
• Divest Minnesota’s state pension funds (MSRS and PERA) from weapons manufacturers profiting from this war.
• Bar Minnesota National Guard cooperation or training exercises with Israeli forces.
• Support or issue a state resolution condemning genocide and apartheid.
We do not want to be a state that funds, enables, or ignores genocide. Silence from our leaders is complicity—and right now, Minnesota is complicit.
You were elected to lead with courage and moral clarity. Now is the time to show it.
