Prioritize NIH cancer research funding to save lives

To: Sen. Cassidy, Rep. Carter, Sen. Kennedy

From: A verified voter in New Orleans, LA

May 25

As a breast cancer survivor in Louisiana, I've witnessed the devastating impact of cancer firsthand and am alarmed by measures that would impede scientific progress against this disease. The administration's proposed cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) budget threaten to undermine lifesaving cancer research and treatment. Louisiana faces disproportionately high rates of certain cancers in some communities, making continued investment in research initiatives crucial. Cuts to NIH funding could delay or halt promising studies into better screening, prevention, and personalized therapies, depriving patients of potential breakthroughs. Robust funding for cancer research saves lives and reduces long-term healthcare costs. As a cancer survivor and as a voter, I demand that you stand up for medical researchers, scientists, doctors, patients, and survivors by funding cancer research generously. Stop Trump! Find a cure!
