I am writing to express my deep concern and outrage regarding the federal government’s handling of the case involving Abrego Garcia and the blatant disregard for the rule of law demonstrated by Donald Trump. As a representative sworn to uphold the Constitution, I urge you to take immediate and vocal action in condemning and rectifying this assault on our legal system. The detainment and treatment of Abrego Garcia, despite clear judicial rulings, is not only unjust—it is unconstitutional. Furthermore, Donald Trump’s public and political actions constitute a dangerous and illegal defiance of our nation's court system. Here are the facts and legal violations that cannot be ignored: Violation of a Federal Court Order: Trump and/or federal agencies acting under his influence have actively defied a court order related to the release or proper legal handling of Abrego Garcia. Disobeying a federal court order is a violation of the separation of powers and an affront to the judicial branch of government. Unlawful Detainment and Due Process Violations: Abrego Garcia is being held in defiance of due process protections under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments, which guarantee fair treatment under the law. Holding an individual beyond the bounds of a legal order constitutes illegal detention. Abuse of Executive Power: Trump’s actions represent a clear abuse of executive authority, using his influence to override judicial decisions and undermine the system of checks and balances. Obstruction of Justice: By encouraging federal agencies to ignore or subvert lawful court decisions, Trump may be engaging in obstruction of justice, a federal crime under 18 U.S. Code § 1505. Contempt of Court: Disregarding a lawful court ruling is grounds for civil or criminal contempt of court, which applies to any individual—public official or not—who knowingly defies the orders of the judiciary.
