I am a long time resident of Iowa and currently live in Ames. I am writing to express my deep anger and concern about the killings in Minneapolis by ICE agents. The occupation in Minneapolis needs end and these deaths need to be investigated by an independent third party. That is the only way the results will have credibility. I agree that immigrants with a violent criminal history should be deported, but that has not been the focus of these occupations. ICE is picking up and detaining people who are in this country legally, causing fear and trauma. It is time for you to stand up and do something about ICE. Stop the occupation of US cities and see that these shootings get an independent investigation. Thank you for your hard work for the citizens of Iowa.
