📢 Petition to Stop Federal Drilling and Exploitation on Our Public Lands To: The President of the United States, Members of Congress, and the Department of the Interior We, the undersigned citizens of the United States, stand united in strong opposition to any further leasing, drilling, fracking, mining, or other extractive activities on our nation's public lands. Our public lands are not for sale. These lands—ranging from national parks and forests to wildlife refuges and BLM-managed areas—belong to all Americans and serve as critical sanctuaries for biodiversity, natural beauty, clean air and water, and outdoor recreation. They are a vital part of our national heritage and identity. Allowing oil, gas, and mineral extraction on public lands: Threatens fragile ecosystems and endangered species Pollutes rivers, lakes, and groundwater Contributes to climate change through increased fossil fuel emissions Disrupts Indigenous lands and sacred sites Undermines efforts to transition to a clean energy economy We call on our elected leaders and federal agencies to: Halt all new leases for fossil fuel and mineral extraction on public lands. Phase out existing operations in a responsible and equitable manner. Invest in conservation, rewilding, and clean energy initiatives that create jobs without sacrificing nature. Respect and incorporate Indigenous sovereignty and knowledge in all land management decisions. Our public lands are not commodities to be exploited—they are treasures to be protected. We demand immediate action to safeguard them for future generations.
