Don't Let Iran War Distract From Full Release of Epstein Files
To: Rep. Stefanik
From: A constituent in Fort Edward, NY
May 2
The timing of military operations against Iran, just days after the Department of Justice released Epstein files that implicated high-profile figures and led to multiple arrests and resignations, is too convenient to ignore. Google search data shows that public interest in the Epstein files has plummeted since the Iran conflict began. This looks like exactly what it is: a distraction from accountability.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act passed Congress because Americans demanded transparency about who exploited children and how powerful people enabled it. That demand hasn't changed just because bombs are falling on the other side of the globe. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is scheduled to testify before Congress about his Epstein ties, and that testimony must happen as planned. Every file must be released, not just the initial batch.
Congressman Thomas Massie was right when he said bombing Iran won't make the Epstein files go away. Don't let this administration use foreign conflict to bury a domestic scandal. I expect you to keep pressure on the Department of Justice to release all remaining Epstein documents immediately and ensure all scheduled congressional hearings proceed without delay. The American people deserve the full truth, regardless of what's happening overseas.
