I just read the Lisa Song Propublica article "A study of Mint Plants. A Device to Stop Bleeding. This is the Scientific Research Ted Cruz Calls "Woke." Really the main question that came up in my head is what staffer did this? Flagging research for any keywords like female or diversity even when in a hilarious spell checker fail sense they didn't even mean what you thought they meant. Cruelty mixed with incompetence. Callous indifference mixed with a nihilism of oh well F' em if my work today hurts people. Do I need to explain the value of science to my Senator? It does motivate me to knock more doors than last time you were up for reelection. The climate is tilted to previously livable locations that are NOW unlivable. The trajectory is for those unlivable regions to grow rapidly while the rest of the plant only is wracked with more and more intense disasters. You solution is to go on a hunt for idealogically uncool research. I also want you to know my strong opposition to the budget reconciliation that will reorder our government away from democracy. For the good of your children if nothing else can you not see this path leads to a more terrible world!?
