I read articles about Secretary Hegseth's speech to our military leaders today. "For too long," Hegseth told attendees, "we've promoted too many uniformed leaders for the wrong reasons. Based on their race, based on gender quotas. Based on historic so-called firsts. We've pretended that combat arms and non-combat arms are the same thing…. We became the woke department." Forgive me if I'm taking away from this speech the belief that only white males deserve to lead our military. This leads me to ask you this: Do you think Colin Powell was a DEI hire?
