Deep Disappointment with Your Presidency

To: Pres. Trump

From: A constituent in Kissimmee, FL

February 23, 2025

I am writing to express my profound disappointment in your presidency this term. While I had hoped that you would lead with fairness and a commitment to serving all Americans, your administration has instead fostered an environment of hostility, fear, and overreach that is damaging both public servants and the nation as a whole. The recent attacks on federal workers, including mass firings and Elon Musk’s push for invasive productivity tracking, have created a toxic work culture that undermines the very institutions that keep this country running. These dedicated professionals are being treated as disposable, despite their crucial role in ensuring essential government services reach millions of Americans. Instead of strengthening these institutions, your administration seems intent on dismantling them. Additionally, your continued attempts to reshape federal agencies for political purposes, including your efforts to take control of the U.S. Postal Service, are deeply concerning. The USPS is a vital public service, and any moves to privatize or restructure it for ideological gain must be met with strong resistance. Congress must hold public hearings on any future Postmaster General appointment, and any budget that enables these overreaching efforts should be blocked. Furthermore, the pattern of ignoring the voices of concerned constituents has only deepened public frustration. Many of us have reached out to our elected officials, only to be met with silence or indifference. Elected leaders have a duty to fight for all Americans, not just their most ardent supporters. I urge you to reconsider the path your administration is taking. A presidency should be about leadership, fairness, and upholding the democratic principles that this nation was built upon. Instead, your tenure has been defined by division, disregard for public service, and policies that harm everyday Americans. History will remember the choices you make. Will you be remembered as a president who governed for all, or one who prioritized power and control over the well-being of the people? I hope you will reflect on this and change course before it is too late.
