An Open Letter

To: Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Rep. Gervin-Hawkins, Sen. Menéndez

From: A verified voter in San Antonio, TX

July 7

I am writing as one of your constituents to urge you to support strong, impartial enforcement of Texas election laws. Election integrity depends on every voter and every public official being held to the same legal standards, regardless of party or position. Recent public reporting has raised serious questions regarding Attorney General Ken Paxton's voter registration and residency. If there is credible evidence that any public official violated Texas election laws, those allegations should be investigated thoroughly, fairly, and transparently. If no violation occurred, the public deserves a clear explanation. Equal application of the law is essential to maintaining confidence in our elections. Texas has devoted significant attention and resources to preventing voter fraud. That commitment must apply equally to everyone. No one should be above the law, and no one should be singled out because of political affiliation. I ask you to support transparency, accountability, and consistent enforcement of our election laws so that Texans can have confidence that the same rules apply to every citizen and every elected official.
