Vote No on ICE Funding

To: Sen. Murkowski, Rep. Begich, Sen. Sullivan

From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK

January 18

I am writing as a constituent and taxpayer to urge you to oppose any further funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Congress has the power of the purse, and you have a clear opportunity to stop the harm ICE is causing in communities across the country. The killing of Renee Good, an unarmed mother of three, has sparked nationwide protests and exposed a breaking point for the American public. In Minneapolis, federal agents responded not with restraint, but with intimidation: smashing car windows, breaking down doors, and creating fear around schools, even after local officials asked ICE to leave. Rather than de escalate, President Donald Trump has threatened further retaliation. Congress is now considering billions more in funding for the same agencies responsible for this chaos. We taxpayers fund ICE, the Border Patrol, and the Department of Homeland Security. If Congress does not act by the end of January, ICE funding will lapse. Please let it. Vote no on any bill that funds or expands ICE. I urge you to use your authority to protect civil liberties and prevent further violence.
