KEEP THE DEPARTMENT Of EDUCATION!

To: Sen. Paul, Sen. McConnell, Rep. McGarvey

From: A constituent in Louisville, KY

February 6

I am emailing to speak out against President Trump's actions to dismantle the Department of Education, H.R. Bill 938. This is unacceptable. I am a instructor on a collegiate level and many of my students use federal funds to apply for college. Not everyone has the luxury of affording to go to college. I was very fortunate to apply and was accepted by several grants so I can get my PhD. This dream of mine would not have happened without that support. Also, public schools (K-12) should be able to receive funding as well. There are underserved communities that need that support to help them with the students' education. Members of Congress must take action, and clarify how they will stop this from happening that will affect millions of students who are directly impacted by financial aid will not be harmed.
