Reject defunding medicaid and what do you plan to do to help those impacted?

To: Gov. Abbott, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Sen. Parker, Rep. Bumgarner

From: A verified voter in Northlake, TX

February 26

My father, a proud Vietnam veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart, is now battling dementia in a senior living facility. The disease has stolen so much from him, but thankfully, Medicaid has been there to help us afford the specialized care he requires. These proposed cuts to Medicaid fill me with dread. I think of my father, a man who bravely served our country and was wounded in action, and I struggle to understand how we could even consider denying him the care he needs in his final years. The financial burden would be crushing. We, like so many other families, rely on Medicaid to bridge the gap and ensure our loved ones receive dignified care. But this isn't just about my family. It's about the countless other families who depend on Medicaid for essential healthcare services. It's about children with disabilities, seniors on fixed incomes, and working families struggling to make ends meet. These cuts would have a ripple effect, impacting not just individuals but entire communities in Texas. How do you plan to replace this funding for the Texans impacted by these Medicaid funding cuts? I implore you to consider the real-life consequences of these proposed changes. Please stand up for your constituents and protect Medicaid. Reject any legislation that jeopardizes access to this vital program.
