Please vote no on HR 9495. Congresspeople. I am writing this with a deeply sad and tired heart. I’ve been an engaged voter and activist for my entire adult life. Since the 90’s, I’ve been begging my representatives to vote more progressive- my democratic representatives. I’ve written Booker and Norcross dozens of times begging to try to help stop the war in Gaza, among many other issues, only to be returned form letters with smug justifications from Norcross and literally nothing from Booker. Now we are in unprecedented times, particularly because the democratic establishment did not put their constituents needs and concerns above businesses. Your message does not speak to your constituents. New Jersey almost swung red. We are in desperate, terrible times, and I’m deeply afraid of what is to come. Despite my frustrations with your offices I voted for you. I’m begging Norcross to vote no on hr 9495, and all if you to stand up and protect us under this new administration. What are you going to do to help us in this assault on human rights and decency? How can you protect us? Please start listening to your constituents that are not in the chamber of commerce. I fully believe we are here because of the failure of the Democratic Party to explain the threat of the policies to our way of life and civil liberties. I’ll be writing in vain until it’s banned I guess.
In deep grief, I’m begging you to stand up and do something.
