The recent removal of CDC websites and datasets related to HIV, LGBTQ+ health, and youth risk behaviors is deeply concerning. As a public health agency, the CDC plays a crucial role in providing accessible and accurate information to the American people. Taking down these resources without clear communication raises severe concerns about censorship and the potential lack of vital health data during critical times. Furthermore, removing the "Safer Food Choices for Pregnant People" page seems counterproductive to the administration's stated goals of promoting "family values" and encouraging women to have children. Depriving expectant mothers of important food safety guidance during pregnancy does not create an environment that supports maternal and fetal health. I urge the administration to immediately restore these CDC websites and datasets. The American public relies on the agency's data and resources to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Censoring or limiting access to this information undermines public trust and could have severe consequences, especially for marginalized communities. It is imperative that the CDC fulfills its mission of providing reliable, science-based health information to all Americans without discrimination. Thank you for your service to constituents like me. I appreciate your time.
