Please do everything it takes to close the Northeast Illinois transit funding gap! I’ve seen republicans spinning this as a city vs suburbs issue, which is completely absurd. I live in Evanston and rely on CTA, Pace, and Metra to get me to work, school, social engagements, restaurants, and places of business all around the Chicagoland region. Good transit is ESSENTIAL to keeping Chicagoland a desirable place to live, work, visit, and do business. With 40% service cuts, our transit system will become functionally unusable and it will never recover ridership or utility. The impact on automobile traffic would be dramatic, severe, and will bring business in the entirety of Northeast Illinois to a standstill. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN.
