I am writing to you not as a Democrat or a Republican, but as an American (& Alaskan) who is deeply concerned about the trajectory of our country. This is not about party politics—it’s about democracy versus dictatorship.
The Trump administration’s policies are wrecking our economy, tanking our investments, and eroding America’s global standing. The reckless trade wars, erratic economic policies, and attacks on our institutions are driving inflation, unsettling markets, and making it harder for working families and retirees alike to feel secure. The damage being done to our economy and reputation will take years—possibly decades—to recover from, no matter who follows in office, Republican or Democrat.
This is bigger than Alaska. The United States has always been a beacon of democracy, strength, and stability. But under Trump’s leadership, our allies no longer trust us, and our adversaries see weakness and division to exploit. We are teetering on the edge of authoritarianism, with democracy itself under siege.
You have a choice. You can continue down this path, enabling a leader who prioritizes personal power over the Constitution, or you can stand up for the principles that make America strong. Alaskans value integrity and independence—we expect the same from our leaders. History will remember those who defended democracy and those who stood by as it crumbled.
Please, choose wisely. Our country depends on it.
