Abolish ICE and End Immigration Enforcement Abuses

To: Sen. Murray, Rep. Gluesenkamp Perez, Sen. Cantwell

From: A verified voter in Camas, WA

March 10

I'm asking you to support legislation to abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE has proven itself an agency beyond reform, and its continued operation threatens communities across America. ICE's pattern of abuse is well documented. The agency routinely separates families, detains people in inhumane conditions, and operates with minimal oversight or accountability. These aren't isolated incidents but systemic failures that define how the agency functions. Communities live in fear of raids that tear apart families and destabilize neighborhoods. We don't need ICE to have functional immigration policy. Before 2003, we managed immigration without this agency. We can return immigration enforcement to existing agencies with proper oversight and constitutional protections. Other countries handle immigration without an agency that operates with ICE's level of impunity. Abolishing ICE isn't about eliminating immigration enforcement. It's about replacing a broken agency with a system that respects human rights and operates within the law. I expect you to co-sponsor abolition legislation and vote to dismantle this agency.
