Immediate Action Required Regarding Law Enforcement Violence against Protesters
To: Rep. Marshall, Sen. Carson
From: A constituent in Highlands Ranch, CO
October 30
I am writing to express my deep outrage and grave concern regarding reports of law enforcement participation in acts of kidnapping children and families located in Colorado and violence toward protesters and their families within Colorado. These allegations, if confirmed, represent an egregious violation of human rights, civil liberties, and the fundamental trust between citizens and those sworn to protect them.
There is no justification—legal, moral, or procedural—for the use of abduction, intimidation, or violence by any member of law enforcement against peaceful demonstrators. Such actions erode the rule of law and destroy the public’s faith in the justice system.
I am urging you to:
1. Order a full, transparent, and independent investigation into all incidents involving these acts, with findings released publicly.
2. Ensure immediate suspension and removal of any state, local, or federal law enforcement officers found to be involved.
3. Pursue prosecution to the full extent of the law for every individual—regardless of rank or agency—who participated in or enabled these crimes.
4. Secure the immediate release and safety of all detained or kidnapped individuals, including children and families.
The people of Colorado deserve leadership that prioritizes accountability and justice over silence or complicity. I urge you to act decisively and transparently to restore public trust and to reaffirm that our state does not tolerate abuse of power in any form.
I look forward to your swift response and to seeing concrete steps taken to protect the rights and safety of every Colorado resident.
