Greetings. I am a voting constituent in rural west Texas. I have questions. Have you figured out who is running, and responsible for, the chaos that they call DOGE? Once again, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt refused to say who was in charge of DOGE, a day after WaPo reported that two of Musk’s DOGE employees, Luke Farritor and Gavin Kliger, used their access to payment systems to override explicit orders from Secretary of State Marco Rubio and shut off funding to USAID. Farritor is 23-year-old dropout from the University of Nebraska who interned at SpaceX. Kliger, 25, spreads conspiracy theories about the “deep state,” attended Berkeley, and is now installed at the Treasury Department., rummaging through god knows what. Yesterday the White House said that Amy Gleason, a former official at the U.S. Digital Service, the agency that Trump’s executive order may have turned into the Department of Government Efficiency, is serving as the acting administrator of DOGE. Are these the people in charge? It’s been a shitshow so far and someone needs to explain why. Why is DOGE is claiming to have slashed federal spending while quietly deleting all five of the five-biggest ticket items it had touted on its “wall of receipts”? Is it because their claims have been thoroughly debunked more than once? If you remember, the GOP has control of the government and could make any cuts wanted through the normal course of legislation. Are you not doing so because you know programs being targeted are popular, and you can blame/turn the hard work over to Musk? Why do you look the other way when people, including judges, ask under what authorization Musk and his team are operating? Isn’t it part of your job to know these things? Lastly, why are you backing upcoming legislation that seems intent on cutting Medicaid and SNAP in the pursuit of tax cuts? When promises were made this would not be happening? And since Medicaid and SNAP cutting will not be enough to offset the trillions you’re trying to come up with will Social Security and Medicare be next? It’s apparent that the Trump administration no longer cares about taking care of even those that put him in office. He’s in. He’s doing what he wants. With us. With you. With America. And it seems like he’s lobbying for the job for life. Which I expect y’all will be happy to oblige since the GOP seems in thrall to authoritarianism in all its many forms. But as of yet you yourself don’t have the promise of lifetime tenure. And for the time being, we can still vote. Y’all have made a mess that you can’t clean up.
