I’m reading in the paper that the Trump administration wants to put conditions on disaster aid to California. They want to meddle with our voting laws and defund the Coastal Commission. This absolutely infuriates me! We pay more into the federal government than we get back. What would the rest of the country do without California? We don’t want the Trump administration to wreck our state! The Coastal Commission has protected our beautiful coastline and made it so that everyone can enjoy our beaches. I own property that falls under the jurisdiction of the Coastal Commission so I am aware of the sometimes burdensome issues that come with that but I am also aware of what is being protected and saved that we all enjoy and that makes California great. We should get the same disaster assistance that other states get—no strings attached. If that is going to be denied, I think Californians should start rethinking where we send our tax dollars.
