As you plan for the new year and the agenda of the next congress, it is imperative that you make inroads on affordability AND accountability. Doing one while putting the other off for another year will not meet the moment. Democrats must prove they can walk and chew gum at the same time. It’s the whole reason we don’t have a system of government that leaves all responsibility to one person. Divide priorities among your committees, delegate responsibilities and coordinate what Americans need with the new ranks of Democratic leaders in state houses and governors’ offices, and don’t waste this opportunity.
