I'm calling on you to demand an immediate independent investigation into Border Patrol agents who violated use-of-force policies during operations in 2025 and 2026, and to push for criminal charges against those who committed assault and those who covered it up. A Bellingcat investigation documented agents like Timothy Donahue punching a man in the face and pulling his gun on protesters in Chicago, then filing an incident report that omitted both actions entirely. Bodycam footage shows him using ChatGPT to write reports. Kristopher Hewson pepper-sprayed what appeared to be a 15-year-old from inches away, lied in his report claiming two feet distance, then deployed tear gas on protesters two weeks after a judge banned such use. He later testified under oath that tear gas "doesn't harm people." Michael Sveum threw two female protesters to the ground and sprayed chemical irritant in a man's face over a snowball. Two people are dead: Renee Good and Alex Pretti. These agents operated in masks across multiple cities for eight months with no accountability. Former DHS Inspector General John Roth called it "a scary Orwellian thing." Federal judges found their conduct "shocks the conscience." Remove these agents from duty immediately. Appoint an independent prosecutor to bring criminal charges. Subpoena DHS for all incident reports and bodycam footage. Anyone who falsified reports or obstructed accountability must face consequences too.
