Demand Accountability: Trump’s $400M Gift from Qatar Violates the Constitution

To: Sen. Sullivan, Rep. Begich, Sen. Murkowski

From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK

President Trump is overstepping constitutional bounds with increasing audacity — from undermining the authority of Congress and the courts, to weaponizing the Justice Department, abducting lawful residents for expressing dissent, and unilaterally imposing tariff taxes on American consumers. But perhaps most blatant is his open acceptance of what can only be described as bribes from foreign governments. The latest example: a $400 million luxury Boeing 747-8 “gift” from the Qatari royal family — a flying palace he intends to use during his presidency and afterward for personal travel. This is a blatant violation of the U.S. Constitution’s Emoluments Clause (Article I, Section 9), which clearly prohibits federal officials from accepting gifts or payments from foreign governments. There’s no ambiguity. No workaround. No “former” status exemption. It’s unconstitutional — and deeply corrupt. Meanwhile, Trump and his family are leveraging this trip to the Middle East for personal gain, with new Trump-branded developments announced in Qatar and Dubai, alongside billion-dollar crypto deals directly benefiting their business interests. These aren’t diplomatic engagements. They’re business deals masked as statecraft. I urge you to speak out publicly and take action to defend the Constitution. Uphold your oath of office. Help restore the American people’s faith in the rule of law.
