Reject Trump’s Tax Cuts for the Rich and Protect Working Americans

To: Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick, Rep. Fitzpatrick

From: A constituent in Quakertown, PA

April 30

You cannot, in good conscience, pass one more tax cut for the ultra-wealthy while millions of working-class Americans struggle to afford groceries, rent, and medicine. Donald Trump’s proposed extension of the 2017 tax cuts, and the additional corporate and high-income breaks he now demands, are nothing short of economic sabotage. The working class is already stretched past the breaking point. We’re watching essential services gutted — from education and infrastructure to LGBTQIA+ suicide hotlines and food assistance — while billionaires are handed billions in tax giveaways. Every single one of the so-called “necessary” budget cuts could have been avoided if Congress had the political will to tax the wealthy fairly. Instead, we’re accelerating into another catastrophic recession with our eyes wide open. This isn’t just bad policy — it’s a betrayal of your oath to serve all your constituents, not just the donor class. Rural communities, working families, disabled people, veterans — the people you represent — will be crushed under the weight of this economic injustice. You cannot balance the budget on the backs of the vulnerable while padding the pockets of those who hoard wealth. We are already living in the fallout of austerity, and the tariffs are exacerbating everything. Another round of tax cuts for the rich will turn this crisis into an outright collapse. Do not pass a single provision of Trump’s tax plan. Fight for the people you were elected to represent. Stop subsidizing billionaires and corporations at the expense of our future. We are watching. And history will remember.
