We have been careful to avoid using the word coup, but it’s time to call it what it is—this is a coup. Trump signed an executive order granting only the attorney general or the president the authority to interpret laws executed by the executive branch.
Under the Constitution there are three equal branches of government in the United States which are the Legislative branch (makes laws), the Executive branch (enforces laws), and the Judicial branch (interprets laws).
The system, established by the US Constitution, is known as "separation of powers," ensuring no single branch has too much power and each can check the actions of the others.
Does that make this Executive Order unconstitutional? The legislative branch has been silent on this as well as many other actions that are occurring in the Trump/Musk administration. If nothing is done soon this branch of government may not be needed. This IS a five alarm fire! Please do something!
