As your constituent, I believe you should oppose Section 226 of H.R. 5300, the State Department Policy Provisions Act. The Secretary of State should not have unchecked power to revoke passports from U.S. citizens for their beliefs or speech. The Secretary of State should not be acting as the judge and jury to determine which individuals can be issued a passport. This provision will pave the way for widespread political retribution and must be removed. Thank you for your time and consideration.
