A new assessment by the Cato Institute today stated, “After more than two weeks of consistent bombing, new U.S. intelligence suggests Iran’s regime is now consolidating power, unlikely to collapse, and led by a cadre more extreme than before.” This Republican administration is conducting an illegal and unnecessary war, with no clear end in sight. Now, it appears the administration is also waging an incompetent war, costing $1 billion per day and putting our servicemembers in danger. To make matters worse, the administration announced it is lifting Iran’s economic embargo so we can buy oil from them. The country we are at war with. We will now be giving them money to buy and manufacture more weapons to kill our troops. Russia is helping Iran attack our troops by sharing intelligence about American personnel in the region. We lifted sanctions on Russia as well. This Republican administration is now funding the unnecessary carnage being wreaked on our military. Is that the legacy you want as a member of the Republican party? You have the power to stop this war. You have a duty to act as a check on the executive branch. Why are you not doing so? My wife and I urge you and your fellow members of Congress to stop this illegal, needless, and incompetent war.
