Prioritize diplomatic solutions and arms embargo to end Gaza crisis

I understand your desire to see an end to the violence and suffering in Gaza. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas has taken a devastating toll on civilians, especially children. As a pro-Gaza Democratic activist and delegate, I urge you to support an immediate and permanent ceasefire agreement, as well as an arms embargo on Israel to halt the assault and occupation against Palestinians. A lasting peace can only be achieved through diplomatic solutions that address the root causes of the conflict and protect the human rights of all people. Dr. Tanya Haj-Hassan, a physician working in Gaza, has witnessed firsthand the impact of this crisis on innocent lives. Hearing her testimony at the Democratic National Convention would provide vital perspective on why policy changes are urgently needed. The Democratic Party platform should explicitly call for restricting weapons sales to Israel until a durable ceasefire is reached. Continuing to supply arms merely perpetuates a cycle of violence that has already claimed too many lives. American foreign policy must prioritize human rights and civilian protection over military force. I ask that you champion these principles and push for real solutions to end the suffering in Gaza once and for all.
