Silence Is Complicity — And America Is Dying From It

To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt, Rep. Onder

From: A constituent in Columbia, MO

October 28

Every day, another headline proves that corruption isn’t the exception anymore — it’s the operating system. Oil drilling approved on sacred Indigenous land. Billionaire “donations” to illegally fund the military. The poorest Americans starve while the powerful build vanity ballrooms with taxpayer dollars. This isn’t leadership. It’s looting in broad daylight. Now the entire Coastal Plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge — the ancestral home of the Gwich’in Nation — is being handed to oil and gas companies. These are sacred lands, protected by treaty and tradition, yet they’re being auctioned to the highest bidder while Indigenous communities still rebuild from catastrophic storms that wiped out entire villages. People died. America barely noticed. The media shrugged. Congress said nothing. Silence is complicity. Meanwhile, the same administration responsible for these betrayals is trying to launder $130 million from a billionaire to “pay the troops.” Legal experts have already confirmed it’s unconstitutional — the government cannot accept or spend private money for military payrolls. That’s not patriotism; it’s the blueprint for a dictatorship. The military belongs to the American people, not to any man or billionaire who writes a check. We are witnessing systemic moral collapse. Public funds flow freely to vanity projects, tax breaks for the ultra-rich, and corporate subsidies — while healthcare is gutted and food assistance is treated like a luxury. This government finds $250 million for a ballroom but claims we can’t afford school meals or cancer treatment. America’s soul isn’t being stolen in secret; it’s being sold in public. If Congress refuses to act, if the courts look away, and if we stay silent, then we are all accomplices to the death of democracy and the destruction of our planet. Stand up. Speak out. Investigate everything — from the stolen millions to the stolen land. The people are watching. And we are done being quiet.
