STOP funding for DHS

To: Rep. McBride, Sen. Coons, Sen. Blunt Rochester

From: A constituent in Claymont, DE

January 27

I urge you to oppose any Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill that fails to rein in ICE and Border Patrol and protect our communities. The recent killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti show the deadly consequences of immigration enforcement operating without meaningful limits. This unchecked violence endangers people across the country. Congress cannot allow ICE and Border Patrol to continue harming our communities. You must: • Reject any appropriations bill that increases funding for ICE, Border Patrol, or detention. • Refuse to support any DHS appropriations bill unless it strengthens limits on dragnet operations and racially targeted arrests; ends Border Patrol deployments in cities; and restricts DHS’s ability to reprogram or transfer funds for detentions. Every member of Congress must demand real accountability before approving any funding. Please, please stand up for the safety, dignity, and rights of everyone in our communities.
