Demand Hegseth's Removal for Wasteful Pentagon Spending

To: Rep. Joyce, Sen. Moreno, Sen. Husted

From: A constituent in Willoughby, OH

March 11

I'm calling on you to support the immediate removal of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and launch a full investigation into the Pentagon's wasteful spending under his leadership. The evidence demands accountability. In September 2025, Hegseth's Pentagon spent $93.4 billion on grants and contracts, with $50.1 billion blown in just the last five working days of the month. This wasn't emergency spending for national security. The Pentagon spent $15.1 million on ribeye steak, $6.9 million on lobster tail, $2 million on Alaskan king crab, and $225.6 million on furniture including an $1,800 chair. They bought a $98,329 Steinway grand piano for the Air Force chief of staff's home while American families struggle to afford groceries and medicine. This abuse of "use-it-or-lose-it" funding rules is theft from taxpayers. Hegseth spent our money on luxury items and foreign contracts totaling $6.6 billion while Americans face impossible choices between food and prescriptions. His leadership has been marked by extremism, constitutional violations, and now financial corruption. Support impeachment proceedings. Demand full reimbursement of wasteful expenditures. The American people deserve better than a Defense Secretary who treats our tax dollars like a personal slush fund.
