On Monday we saw the administration admit its complicity in torture. With the President being no tinpot despot but rather a creature of the Constitution you have the power to bring him and his odious officials to heel. It seriously seems some days as if the Trump administration looks to the charges against King George III in the Declaration of Independence for inspiration as to new evils to commit. It is time to stop the Mad King. You are the champions of the people and it is time to recognize that the crisis we are in requires swift action. After all, a Mad King enamored with banishments could snatch of us and ship us away to El Salvador without warning. President Trump’s Monday trial balloon would affect both me and you. The time to act is now.
