I am writing as your constituent to express grave concern about President Donald Trump’s recent statements and conduct, and to urge you to take immediate steps to evaluate the invocation of the 25th Amendment.
The President’s public rhetoric regarding Iran has escalated to a deeply alarming level. In a recent social media post, he issued a profanity-laden threat tied to strategic infrastructure, stating: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day… Open the F***in’ Strait… or you’ll be living in Hell.” Such language, particularly when directed at a volatile geopolitical situation involving the Strait of Hormuz, risks signaling intent to target civilian infrastructure and could be interpreted as threatening actions that violate international law.
This kind of reckless communication is not merely inappropriate—it is dangerous. It raises serious questions about judgment, stability, and the ability to responsibly wield the powers of the presidency, especially as Commander-in-Chief. The potential for miscalculation or escalation into broader conflict, including actions that could constitute war crimes, demands urgent scrutiny.
The 25th Amendment exists precisely for situations in which a President may be unable to discharge the duties of the office in a safe and responsible manner. Congress cannot remain passive in the face of behavior that endangers U.S. service members, civilians abroad, and global stability.
I urge you to work with your colleagues to initiate a formal evaluation of the President’s fitness for office under the 25th Amendment and to take all appropriate constitutional steps to safeguard the nation.
The stakes are too high for inaction.
