The U.S. decision to cut funding to UNRWA amid Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza has directly contributed to the starvation and suffering of millions of Palestinian civilians. Your continued silence or inaction on this issue is inexcusable. I am urging you to cosponsor and publicly support S.898, the UNRWA Funding Emergency Restoration Act, introduced by Senator Welch. UNRWA is the backbone of humanitarian aid in Gaza, providing food, water, and medical care to Palestinians who have been deliberately starved and displaced by Israel’s relentless assault. The U.S. ban on funding UNRWA was not based on credible evidence but on Israeli government claims—claims that even U.S. officials have admitted lack proof. Meanwhile, Israel has systematically targeted and killed aid workers, bombed humanitarian convoys, and prevented desperately needed supplies from entering Gaza. Cutting off UNRWA was never about “security concerns”—it was about aiding and abetting Israel’s collective punishment of Palestinians. Restoring UNRWA funding is the bare minimum. The U.S. should not be complicit in mass starvation and war crimes. Support S.898 now—failure to do so makes you directly responsible for the suffering of innocent civilians.
