I urge you to reconsider your push to criminalize mask-wearing among the public. It is already the case that immune-compromised people and others with di sabilities have been left behind in our imperfect post-Covid recovery. I still regularly choose to wear a mask in crowded indoor spaces such as the NYC subway to protect myself and others. Emphasizing the possibility for criminal uses of masks, rather than the much more prevalent health and solidarity uses, is a bad public-health move.
