Protect Our National Forests and Public Lands

To: Sen. Moreno, Rep. Carey, Sen. Husted

From: A constituent in Columbus, OH

April 9

I am writing to express my deep concern about the recent Executive Order aimed at increasing timber production on national forests and public lands. While I understand the desire to boost domestic timber supply, I urge you to oppose any policy that sacrifices the long-term health of our national forests and wildlife habitats for short-term gain. National parks, forests, and wildlife refuges are not only natural treasures but essential to our environment and communities. They provide critical ecosystem services, preserve biodiversity, and offer places for recreation and reflection. Accelerating logging on these lands without proper environmental review puts all of this at risk. Please work to protect our public lands and ensure that any actions taken to address timber production do not come at the expense of the natural spaces that are vital to our well-being and our future. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and hope that you will stand with those who advocate for the preservation of our parks and forests.
