Today, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and Environmental and Public Works Committee released a bipartisan legislative package to improve energy permitting, accelerate the development of generation and transmission, and modernize the grid. I commend the Senate for the many months of hard work and successful negotiations that led to the release of this deal. I also applaud the inclusion of Grid Enhancing Technologies (GETs) and High Performance Conductors (HPCs), together known as Advanced Transmission Technologies (ATTs) in the deal. ATTs cost-effectively expand grid capacity to enable interconnection of new generation and load. ATTs also improve system resilience, strengthening infrastructure, increasing situational awareness, and enabling flexibility. Please support this package, also known as BAAJA Blast, and encourage your colleagues to do so, too ensure our grid is efficiently and cost effectively modernized at this critical time.
