Here’s the updated letter, ready for Resistbot: I’m your constituent, and I’m done accepting vague reassurances while Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security get quietly gutted. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (H.R. 1), signed into law in July 2025, is already cutting roughly $625 billion from Medicaid and triggering up to $500 billion in automatic Medicare cuts through 2034 — cuts that hit hardest right after this year’s midterms, not before. That timing was not an accident. I’m asking you to do two things, on the record: 1 Pledge, publicly, that you will not vote for any further cuts — to benefits, eligibility, or funding — to Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security this year. 2 Support the Social Security Expansion Act (S. 770 / H.R. 1700), or comparable legislation to restore and strengthen funding for these programs, rather than letting them erode by design. Respond to me directly, in writing, within 30 days. Lead with a plain yes or no: • Yes: Say so clearly. I will make your answer public. • No: Tell me exactly which benefits you’re willing to cut and who you expect to absorb the cost. I will make that public too. • Already a co-sponsor of S. 770 / H.R. 1700 or similar legislation: Say so, and confirm the pledge above still stands. I’ll share that too. A non-answer is an answer. Silence, talking points about “fiscal responsibility,” or a reply that doesn’t address the pledge directly will be treated as a “no” — and shared as one. These are programs people paid into their entire working lives. Gutting them to fund something else is a choice, not an inevitability.
