I am writing to demand that you stand up for democracy, the constitution, and the economic stability of this country by standing against Presidrnt Trump. Are you for the rule of law? Do you believe in the Constitution? Are you upholding your oath to the people? Then you must stand up against Trump - even though it is hard, even though you agree with him. President Trump's actions have been unlawful in many cases, usurping Congressional authority and defying the courts. Laying offfederal workers without due process, overseeing the removal of permanent residents to foreign concentration camps without due process, shuttering Congressionally created agencies without approval, violating the Impoundment Act of 1974 and disregarding court orders from duly appointed judges, and many other lawless actions undermine our democracy. The appointment of incompetent individuals led to violations of the Espionage Act and the Presidential Records Act. In other cases President Trump has defied the constitution. The First Amendment protections for free speech and free assembly guarantee a right to speak and protest for all. That is under attack. He has also tried to overturn turn 14th Amendment guarantees by executive order. Please be good and brave. Please protect the rule of law. Please stand on the right side of history and due process. We are all depending upon you.
