Preventing unnecessary deaths and immense suffering, especially among vulnerable children, must be an utmost priority. Allowing a single billionaire to dismantle a crucial humanitarian aid agency like USAid is reckless and will have catastrophic consequences globally. Millions face the risk of starvation, lack of medical care, and disruptions to vital services due to this abrupt freeze on aid funding. Critical supplies are being abandoned, lifesaving programs shut down, and essential workers laid off in crisis zones across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Women and girls will die from pregnancy complications, children will succumb to malnutrition and preventable diseases. This chaos threatens to destabilize the entire global aid sector. We cannot allow corporate interests and cost-cutting agendas to supersede the fundamental human rights of survival, health, and dignity for the world's most vulnerable populations. USAid's work is a moral and strategic imperative for the United States. Reinstating full funding and operations for this agency must be an urgent priority to avert imminent loss of life on a massive scale. The human cost of inaction is far too high – we have a moral obligation to the world's poorest to ensure their basic needs are met through robust humanitarian assistance. This costly aid freeze will only breed further conflict, suffering and displacement that undermines global stability.
