I cannot express how disappointed and scared I am at this moment. Vice President Harris and President Biden seem oblivious to a very real danger to Democrats’ chances in 2024. Here in Wisconsin, many of my Democratic friends are still undecided about whether to vote Democrat. For over a year they have been asking for concrete actions by President Biden to stop Israel’s aggressive wars. Nothing has been done to end the genocide against the Palestinians and now, against Lebanon. They say the won’t vote against their conscience anymore. They are willing to withhold their vote or to vote for Stein to send a message to Democrats. They are scared of 4 more years of Trump, but are more scared that if they vote for VP Harris, that Democrats will never work toward security and justice in the region. Frankly speaking, they are right. Many things have been said in the last year. Red lines have been drawn and disregarded, public appeals by the administration have went unheeded. Peace negotiations have been sabotaged. Yet nothing has happened. Talk is cheap they say, and they are right. The only way to stop this madness is to stop sending offensive weapons to Israel. Without an immediate end to military aid to Israel before the election, they are willing to risk 4 years of a Trump presidency and 2 years of GOP control of Congress. The question that they want answered is are you willing to sacrifice Democrats’ chances in 2024 for the sake of arming Israel? They will not vote Democratic unless words are translated into action now. They no longer care about a cease fire or a two state solution. Those decisions are decisions Israel will have to make. Undecided voters in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania care instead about what you decide: whether you will continue supplying the weapons and resources that fuel this madness. Actions, not words are what will win the election.
