I am grateful for your many years of support for the LGBTQ+ community, especially for the sanctuary laws you signed at the start of Trump's term. I was upset when you platformed fascist propagandists on your podcast, and furious that you killed LGBTQ+-protecting bills, such as one that would keep LGBTQ+ children out of hostile homes. I, like many Democrats, want more than anything for our politicians to have a spine and to meet this moment. I urge you to show us that you are the Gavin Newsom we helped elect, the bold ally, the Newsom who stands up for the transgender community, who does not enable Republican attacks on minorities. Show us you have a spine by signing the bills that were passed in the LGBTQ+ Caucus's Legislative Agenda, including and especially the bills to protect transgender people: SB 497 – Protects medical records from out-of-state subpoenas/doxing SB 418 – 12-month hormone prescriptions; insurance non-discrimination SB 59 – Confidential gender-change documents AB 1084 – Streamlines legal name & gender change documents AB 82 – Protects providers from intimidation
