Remove ICE From Airports and Block Deployment at Polling Places

To: Rep. Goldman, Sen. Cruz, Sen. Cornyn

From: A verified voter in Fort Worth, TX

March 24

I expect you as a co-equal branch of government to remove the ICE agents from our nation's airports immediately, and I demand that you put a stop to any attempt whatsoever to station armed, paramilitary ICE agents at polling places. President Trump deployed ICE to airports nationwide on Sunday, ostensibly to assist TSA during the shutdown. Former White House strategist Steve Bannon revealed the real purpose on his War Room program, calling it a "test run" to "perfect ICE" for deployment at polling stations during the 2026 midterm elections. He explicitly stated, "The ICE will be there in the fall of 2026, just as they are at airports today." This is voter intimidation, plain and simple. Armed federal agents have no legitimate role at polling locations in a democracy. The presence of ICE agents, whose job is immigration enforcement and deportation, will suppress turnout among immigrant communities and anyone who looks like they might be targeted. This shutdown was triggered by Democrats refusing to fund Homeland Security after ICE agents killed Americans Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis in January. These same agents have no business patrolling our airports or our polling places. Stop this proven reckless endangerment of Americans immediately. Pass legislation now that explicitly prohibits ICE deployment at polling locations and ends their airport presence.
